TOPS Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to hire two experienced Sub Arc Welders for a shop-based role focused on pressure vessel tank fabrication. This is an immediate, direct hire opportunity offering steady work, competitive pay, and long-term growth in a stable manufacturing environment.

Position Overview
As a Sub Arc Welder, you will focus exclusively on welding large pressure vessel tanks (54” and larger) using submerged arc welding processes. You’ll work from approved procedures and drawings to produce high-quality welds that meet strict safety and quality standards. This role is ideal for welders who are comfortable working on large components in a production shop setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform submerged arc welding (SAW) on large pressure vessel tanks
• Weld inside and outside of vessels in accordance with approved WPS
• Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
• Prepare joints and perform grinding or clean-up work as needed
• Inspect welds to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance
• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Work independently while coordinating with supervisors and production teams
Qualifications
• 2+ years of hands-on sub arc welding experience preferred
• Experience welding pressure vessels, tanks, or large fabricated components
• Ability to read and understand weld symbols and fabrication drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Comfortable working in and around large vessels
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work as part of a team
Work Schedule & Pay
• Daylight shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Occasional Saturday overtime based on workload
• Starting pay: $21.76 per hour – (Max rate for this role 25.60 per hour once fully trained (Max rate will steadily increase each year reaching $28+ per hour by 2028)
